About TVERC

TVERC is a 'not for profit' operation run by a partnership of organisations that collect or need to use information about the natural environment.

TVERC is one in a national network of Local Environmental Records Centres.
The Records Centre collects, collates and makes available information to help people make sound decisions about our natural environment in Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

What sort of information does TVERC hold?

TVERC aims to hold all available information about the plants, animals, wildlife habitats and important wildlife and geological sites in Berkshire and Oxfordshire.

Where does the information come from?
There are many people collecting information about our natural environment.

By collating all this information in TVERC everyone can get a better picture of the status and distribution of wildlife. All information that is made available through TVERC is carefully checked before integration into the main database – this means that we can provide information of known quality in a format that suits you.

What is the information used for?
All information held by TVERC is available to all bona fide enquirers (with some restrictions on access to sensitive and/or confidential data).
