Oxford Botany Loop Outing: Spring flora in Didcot, 22 March 2017

Here is a great Ashmolean Natural History Society of Oxfordshire (ANHSO) opportunity to get involved with botanical surveying and to start the 2017 season.

A small group of ANHSO botanists from the Oxfordshire Flora Group are planning to meet in Didcot, to check out the Ladygrove spoil heap, in the hopes of finding some spring flowers: would anyone care to join them? The area was apparently planted up with wild flowers when it was created, so there might be extra things of interest.

Suitable for complete beginners, and the group will be working through Dichotomous Keys, so if you are a little hazy on how to use Keys, this is a good chance to come along and practice.
Bring a hand lens, and whatever reference books you usually use.

As always, please let Rachel know (rachel.at.home@ntlworld.com) if you are thinking of coming, so that she can keep you informed if they have to cancel due to weather - but at least the group will be able to duck into the shops or the pub for cover this outing! New faces very welcome as ever.

Wednesday 22 March 2017.

Meet at 1.15 for 1.30 at the shopers' car park, by the Ladygrove pub, 23 Cow Lane/Tyne Avenue, Didcot, OX11 7SZ

See the Oxfordshire Flora Group page of the ANHSO website for further information on events and publications.
