Support for Recorders

The majority of our species records come from volunteers - individuals and groups, rather than from paid professionals. TVERC’s support of the recording community ranges from the more technical aspects of data collection, collation, management and analysis through to providing help and support to those working to share data, making the process as streamlined as possible, to getting involved in local events which aim to promote and recruit interested members of the public into the world of environmental recording.

We would also encourage you to join one of the many recording/wildlife groups within Berkshire and Oxfordshire, you can check them here. TVERC can help recorders by lending its equipment and books or by providing funding through a small grants scheme.

We also organise a local Recorders Conference to share information amongst our recording community and increase their knowledge. Whatever your level of expertise, our recorder field days can be the best way to improve skills and knowledge and a chance to meet other recorders. We also provide training courses and talks to local groups. Data sharing agreements allow us to exchange data and to make it available to agreed users.

We really value our recording community and aim to support you well so please get in touch if there is anything else we can help you with.
