TVERC provides training for habitat and species surveys, biological recording and identification and in the use of GIS. 

Training is currently provided in two main formats, as an annual training programme of courses to teach survey skills, which are primarily aimed at beginners and also bespoke training

TVERC Training Course Programme

TVERC training courses help train volunteers to improve identification skills and knowledge of a range of priority habitats and species. These introductory training courses are run by expert ecologists and aimed at beginners. Courses cover basic ecology, relevant legislation, identification features and survey techniques. They generally involve both indoor and outdoor sessions. You can book for individual courses or all.

Standard fee £60 / professional fee £120 per course.

For each course TVERC offers a couple of subsidised places for students at a rate of £30 on a first come, first served basis, with proof of student status needed.

TVERC Bespoke Training Provision on Request

TVERC can also offer bespoke training on a wide variety of topics and methodologies for organisations, planned and developed in discussion with your organisation to suit your specific requirements and timings. This may be a one-off workshop for your team or group, but could also include supporting and developing wider projects to train people in biological recording and surveying skills.
