Hedgerow Survey training course - 14th September

 Hedgerow Survey Techniques

Join us for our next TVERC training course which will be held on 14th September 2019, 10am - 4pm, at the beautiful Thames-side Chimney Meadows Nature Reserve

The course tutor Julie Kerans, Oxon Biodiversity Officer for TVERC, will provide an introductory course about hedgerows, their management and how to carry out a survey.

She will also highlight the legal protection that some hedgerows have.

A field session will include the opportunity to survey a hedgerow with discussion about typical plants and trees found in UK hedges.

The training will be partly class room based but with a short walk nearby, if the weather is reasonable. So please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear. Please also note that the 'class room' sessions will be within an agricultural-style building so EXTRA WARM LAYERS are advised in case it is a cool day!

Books and equipment will be provided. But if you have your own hand lens and identification books please do bring them.

Tea and coffee will be provided, but please bring your own lunch.
