Volunteers wanted for butterfly surveys

Butterfly Conservation coordinates butterfly monitoring at over 1,000 sites as part of the UK Butterfly Monitoring Scheme. Volunteers help by walking transects weekly (although they may share a route with others so it doesn’t have to be so frequent). Or you can take part in the Wider Countryside Butterfly Survey, involving a minimum of two visits to an allocated square. Both surveys are a great way to get to know a patch really well and to learn about butterflies. For more information, contact Mike Wilkins, mikeawilkins@googlemail.com.
