Event on Port Meadow: put nature at the heart of the Election

Announcement from the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT):

We are organising a publicity event on Oxford’s Port Meadow on Friday 26 May to show prospective MPs why they should put nature and the environment at the heart of the General Election.

Make a date to come along with your friends and family to join in the fun!
Spread the word through your networks.

We're gathering from 6pm at the northern end of the Meadow, at Godstow Car Park, and will walk onto the Meadow to form a heart-shaped chain for the photo-session from 7pm.

The Oxford Meadows, including Port Meadow, are currently protected by EU legislation, but there's no guarantee that will continue after the UK leaves the EU. This could mean that Oxford Meadows would be vulnerable to development.

Share your love for nature by joining BBOWT on Friday 26 May to show our prospective MPs for Oxford West & Abingdon, and Oxford East why you believe nature must be at the heart of this General Election, and to raise awareness of the impacts that leaving the EU will have on our local wild places.

Take your own photos and video, and share them on social media #BBOWT

NOTE: there is limited car parking at Godstow Rd, so please use public transport, cycle, or walk across the Meadow from the car park at Walton Well Rd.
