TVERC Vacancy - Biodiversity Projects Officer

TVERC are recruiting for a Biodiversity Projects Officer!

This is an exciting new role where you will be supporting the varied project work TVERC is involved including supporting the development of the Nature Recovery Strategy for Berkshire and Oxfordshire, supporting effective Biodiversity Net Gain, and monitoring the status of biodiversity in the region.

We would like to find an ecologist that enjoys working with data and has some experience of habitat and botanical surveys in the UK. You will be a proficient user of Geographic Information Systems (ArcMap) to digitise, analyse and present geospatial ecological data. Ideally you will also have experience using R and SQL to wrangle, query and analyse ecological data.

You will have produced good quality project outputs such as reports, maps and datasets, and have ensured your findings have been understood by non-specialists.

You must enjoy collaborating as part of a small team but be confident to work independently. Comfortable taking ownership of problems and being resourceful and creative in resolving them.

If you already have experience of using the UK Hab classification system or Biodiversity Net Gain assessments that would be a bonus as this is a growing area of projects for us.

Applications close Sunday 1st May. For more information and to apply: Biodiversity Project Officer OCC512331 (newjob.org.uk)
