We're Recruiting!

We currently recruiting for two positions:

Are you interested in Biological Recording? Do you have excellent communication skills and able to engage and inspire with a wide range of volunteers and stakeholders?

We need an enthusiastic and organised person to support the volunteer recording network to increase the quality and quantity of ecological and environmental data recording in Oxfordshire and Berkshire and to facilitate data-sharing with TVERC by liaising with existing volunteer recorders and volunteer recording groups.

Your main tasks will be to coordinate data agreements and exchanges with voluntary recording groups, recruit, train and support volunteers to undertake data management (using Excel and GIS), organise and attend relevant events to promote data-sharing and volunteering with TVERC, and provide practical and project-specific advice to external organisations on data collection, collation and management.

Applications close Sunday 1st August. For more information and to apply: Biological Recording Co-ordinator OCC121211 (newjob.org.uk)

Biodiversity Data Manager

We are also recruiting for a Biodiversity Data Manager! Join our team and play an import role in using technology and wrangling data to help our communities use what we know about the natural world more effectively

In your role as Biodiversity Data Manager you will take ownership of managing our data. Much of this is geospatial and you and the TVERC team will use it to provide services to our customers to help their decision making. You will set data standards alongside maintaining and developing tools and processes to ensure high levels of data quality and consistency, through the data lifecycle including acquisition, storage, analysis and presentation.

We are keen to seek and implement improvements to our data platform and services, and this role is critical in taking this forward. We are always looking to extend the types and volumes of data we can hold and use, and you will ensure our systems can support these.

We are a small team, and you will need to provide them with support and assistance in making full use of our systems. Many of the projects we work on with our customers use the data in new and innovative ways, this role is key in helping extend our possibilities.
