This year’s conference promises a vibrant mix of inspiring talks, hands-on workshops, and speed updates from local groups and individuals working to protect and understand the natural world in Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
You can look forward to a presentation on boosting barn owl populations in Wokingham Borough by Stuart Croft and Finn Rothery, as well as a session on recording glow worms led by Robin Scagell from the UK Glow Worm Survey. Workshops will include a practical session on identifying 20 unmistakable tracks and signs with Bob Cowley of the UK Mammal Society, and a tutorial on using free mapping tools to support nature recovery efforts. The conference will also include a series of five-minute speed updates from local groups and individuals, offering quick insights into recent projects, discoveries, and conservation initiatives across Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
Whether you're a seasoned recorder, a budding naturalist, or simply curious about local biodiversity, the Autumn Recorders’ Conference is a welcoming space to learn, share, and get involved. It’s also a great opportunity to hear how your data contributes to wider conservation efforts and planning decisions across the region.
