Join us for our Free Noticing Nature events 2026!

After a successful first year, TVERC is delighted to welcome back its free Noticing Nature events for a second year. These sessions invite people to slow down, look closely, and rediscover the beauty and biodiversity of the natural world around them from urban greenspaces to quieter countryside sites.

Whether you’re walking through a bustling town or a quiet meadow, nature is always present: molehills, birdsong, wildflowers, and towering trees all tell stories of the ecosystems we live alongside. The Noticing Nature events help people tune in to these details, learn simple identification skills, and gain confidence in recording what they see.

This year’s programme begins by joining the City Nature Challenge, a global event that encourages people to record wildlife in their local area. Our first two Noticing Nature sessions will take place during the Challenge, giving participants the perfect opportunity to contribute to this worldwide effort while exploring some of Oxford’s green spaces:

  • Aston's Eyot OX4 1SR, Friday 24th April, 10am-12pm
  • Iffley Meadows, OX4 4BL, Monday 27th April 10am-12pm

After the City Nature Challenge, the programme continues through spring and summer with a series of daytime walks at a range of sites across Oxfordshire,  ending with a bat walk later in the year. Don’t miss out on upcoming Noticing Nature events.

Several people are standing and crouching in a grassy, green field surrounded by trees and shrubs. One person is kneeling and closely examining or picking plants, while others observe or look at the ground.

The events are part of the WISH (Waste Innovation Station Headquarters) Partnership and are supported by The National Lottery Community Fund.
