TVERC shares a huge amount of wildlife information to help protect nature and guide local planning and research in Berkshire and Oxfordshire. In 2024/25 alone, they shared over 892,000 records of protected and notable species. This shows how vital it is to keep track of wildlife and how local people play a key role by contributing useful information.

Over the past few months, we’ve hosted a series of Noticing Nature events across Oxfordshire, inviting participants to explore and appreciate nature. From rare alkaline fens at Hinksey Heights to reptile monitoring at North Leigh Common, each outing offered unique encounters with plants, insects, birds, and amphibians.

We’re excited to welcome several new members to the TVERC team, each bringing valuable skills and passion to our mission of supporting biodiversity and ecological data across the region.

During Swift Awareness Week, we encourage you to enjoy watching swifts—remarkable birds known for their high-speed flight and joyful screeches—as young non-breeding swifts fill the summer skies with playful aerial displays before migrating to Africa.
